ESSIE MAE WILSON, 73, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the home of her daughter, after a short illness.

Essie was born April 24, 1936 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of Alf and Anna Cooper. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children, Debbie Tomlinson of Valdosta, Bruce Nesbitt of Jennings, FL, and Mary Alice Feagin of SC; two step-sons, Ronald Nesbitt of Valdosta, and Arnold Nesbitt of TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sisters, her first love and husband, Robert Samuel Nesbitt, and her second husband, C.E. (Tommy) Wilson.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Kelly Barcol officiating. Mrs. Wilson's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta.
