Ernest William (Bill) Folsom, Jr., 73, of Lake Park died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on November 22, 1941, a son of the late Ernest William Folsom, Sr. and Lula Brown Folsom Finney. Mr. Folsom retired as an electrician with Packaging Corporation after 46 years of service. He was a Scotish Rite Mason and had a great love for the outdoors and animals. He enjoyed playing the games of baseball and golf. Mr. Folsom was known for riding his golf cart in the neighborhood giving out doggie treats also known as the ("doggie ice cream truck").
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Folsom of Lake Park; two daughters, Lynn Folsom of Lake Park, Leslie Folsom and her partner, Jane Harris of Seattle, WA; brother and sister in law, Bob and Alana Folsom of Valdosta; three sisters, Dean McCullough of Hahira, Maryann Strickland and Barbara Jean Folsom both of Valdosta; nieces and nephews, Tom (Christal) McCullough, Carol McCullough, Rob (Deanna) Folsom, Russ (Lana) Folsom, Rea (Carol) Ricks; several great nieces and great nephews of whom some were like grandchildren to him; his aunts and uncles, Rachel Russell, Ralph and Hilda Brown all of Valdosta.
A celebration of Mr. Folsom's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5-7pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, 3119 W. Marion Ave., Lake Park, GA 31636. The family requests that there be no flowers and memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Georgia Life Chapter, 950 E.
