Ernest Jackson King Jr.

Ernie J. King Jr. of Valdosta, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 10, 1952, Ernie brought joy and melody to the world through his passion for playing the guitar and singing. His greatest happiness was found in the company of his beloved family.

Ernie is survived by his devoted wife, Vicky (Dowling) King, and their sons: Jackson King of Valdosta and Taylor King with his wife Alison of Valdosta. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his granddaughter, Eliza Jane King, also of Valdosta. Ernie is remembered by his sister, Sharon Phillips, and her husband Gary of Valdosta, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Jackson Sr. and Gedelle (Yarbrough) King, and two brothers, Jerry and Richard King. Ernie's life will be celebrated during visiting hours on Thursday, December 28, from 5-7pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
