Ernest (Ernie) Scaggs

Ernest (Ernie) Scaggs, 64, of Valdosta died on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Okaloosa County, Florida on March 2, 1944 to the late Beecher and Myrtice Yancey Scaggs. He had worked with Preferred Lodging Systems as a general manager for many years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Viet Nam.

Survivors include his wife Janet Scaggs of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Erika Tindall of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Katie Scaggs and sons, Corey and Cody Scaggs all of Valdosta; one granddaughter, Harper Tindall and a grandson, Kai Tindall both of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Vicki Gunn of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Scaggs.

A memorial service for Ernest Scaggs will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Watkins officiating.
