Emory Marlyn Carter, 82, of Naylor, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born January 6, 1932, in Lowndes County, a son of the late Asben and Chesil Copeland Carter. Mr. Carter, a Christian, was a devoted husband and adored his grandsons. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife of fifty-nine years, Betty Rigdon Carter of Naylor, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Emory Carter, Jr. of Naylor, and Paul and Janet Carter of Hahira; two grandsons, Richard Carter and Matt Johnson; a sister-in-law, Verdie Carter of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Edward and Richard Carter.
