Emory L. Kiefer, 88, of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Berrien Nursing Center following a brief illness. He was born in Columbus, OH on January 30, 1930 to the late Earl and Lillian Kiefer. Mr. Kiefer served as a Heating and Air Technician for many years. He was a dedicated Christian and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered as a jokester. Mr. Kiefer was a hardworking family man. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved helping other people and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed traveling. He was a former member of the Valdosta Masons.
Mr. Kiefer is survived by a son, Daryl (Patricia) Kiefer of Lake Park; daughter, Cheryl Kiefer Baker of Deltona, FL; eight grandchildren, Jessica Freeman, Stacey (Ross) Purvis, Chad (Kristina) Freeman, John Cowell, Christina Ozley (Brian Kowlessar), Timothy (Andrea) Ozley, Paula Lovejoy, Greg (Sherri) Douglas; thirteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris A. Kiefer; daughters, Karen Maynard and Mandy Painter; second wife, Emma Kiefer; and a brother, Elbert Kiefer.
Funeral services for Mr. Kiefer will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Clyde Stokes will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
