Emmett Ray Radford, 76, of Hahira died Friday, January 25, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on April 1, 1936 in Monroe County, West Virginia to the late Alvie and Eleanor Pyne Radford and had lived in Hahira since 1984. Mr. Radford was a retired shipbuilder with Newport News Shipyard and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved fishing, keeping yards landscaped and gardening. Mr. Radford was a family man.
Survivors include his wife, Faye LeGette Radford of Hahira, his son, Christopher R. Radford, his daughter and son in law, Faith Radford Kolb and Larry Kolb all of Hahira, five grandchildren, Christopher Dillan Radford of Valdosta, Larianne Michele Kolb, Marlie Nicole Kolb, Gracie Noel Kolb and Natalie Layne Kolb all of Hahira, two brothers, Dewey Radford and Wayne Radford, three sisters, Marie Shacklock, Brenda Elmore and Barbara Boyce and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
