E. Lamar Kinard, 63, of Hahira, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 18, 1944 in Lanier County to the late Emmett and Nezzie Phillips Kinard. Mr. Kinard was a retired farmer, was a retired maintenance supervisor from Union Tank Car, served in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1968 and was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Valdosta Day Lily Club, enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and mission trips.
Mr. Kinard is survived by his wife, Barbara Carter Kinard, three daughters and two sons in law, Annette Greene and her friend, David Coker, Julie and Glenn Rowland and Pam and Jerimy Davis, two sisters and one brother in law, Hedy Sue and Albert Parrish and Linnie Kinard all of Hahira, four grandchildren, Ty Cain, Saralynn Greene, Maisie and Levi Rowland, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Jo Ann Kinard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2007 at two p. m. at Perimeter Road Baptist Church. He will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
