Emma Geraldine Head Hood

Emma Geraldine Hood, 77 of Valdosta, died on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born on February 16, 1929 in Experiment, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin and Beatrice Buelah Berry Head. She previously worked as a Stock Clerk at the Fort Gillem Army Base and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Griffin.

Survivors are brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Nadine Head of Valdosta, James D. and Mina Head of Griffin; nephews, Craig and Cathy Head of Adel, Frankie and Amanda Maines of Sharpsburg, Roy and Becky Maines of Indiana, Steve and Ginny Corley of Griffin, Robert and Wendy Corley of St. Cloud, MN, Harry Maines of Grifffin; nieces Lynn and Robby Robertson of Griffin; great nephews, Tristan Head of Adel, Terry Stewart of Griffin, Justin Ramella of Virginia and special friends, Walter Stewart and the Kirbo family of Griffin. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Bessie Maines, Dorothy Corley, Wilene Barnhardt, Adelle Blalock and brothers William Lloyd Head and Beryl Head.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Griffin with Reverend Bob Willis officiating.
