Emily Jackson Cannon

Emily Jackson Cannon, 62, lifelong resident of Valdosta, died on Monday, March 5, 2007 at Shands in Gainesville, FL. Born on October 9, 1944, in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late W. B. and Mattie Clyde Peace Jackson. Emily was active in the Emmaus Community and was an active member of the Valdosta Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce. She was employed by The Links as a property manager and was a member of First Untied Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Dennis Cannon of Phoenix, AZ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonita and Rannell Cotton and Faye and Gilbert Brantley all of Valdosta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Susan Jackson, Wade and LaVerne Jackson and Kenneth and Carolyn Jackson all of Valdosta; and a wide extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2007, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Redland Cemetery in Valdosta. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
