Emanuel Christie, PhD., died on Monday, March 9, 2020 at his residence in Hahira following a lengthy illness. He was born in Jamaica, West Indies on June 15, 1942 to the late David and Caroline Goodin Christie. Dr. Christie was a retired college professor from Knoxville College in Knoxville, Tennessee and later served as the office manager for his wife’s practice at Valdosta Family Physicians. He loved to farm.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Jennetta Christie of Hahira; his daughter, Golda Christie of Oakland, California; his son, Theron E. Christie of Hahira; four sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Che E. Christie and a sister, Dr. Hazel Christie Mubako.
Dr. Christie will be cremated according to his wishes and there are no formal services scheduled. Contributions in memory of Dr. Emanuel Christie may be made to Planned Parenthood. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
