ELSIE FOLSOM COFFEY, 84, of Valdosta died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in January 13, 1923 in Mitchell County to the late Robert Felton and Maudie Williams Folsom and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Coffey was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. She retired from Strickland Cotton Mills and Holiday Inn.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wilson of Albany and Vicki Bush of Valdosta, two sons, Evon Coffey of Griffin and Billy Coffey of Valdosta, 12-grandchildren and 22-great grandchildren, three sisters, Mildred Trip of Florida, Shelba Jean Adams of Goose Creek, SC. and Lorine Larimie of Moultrie, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleave A. Coffey, two sons and a daughter in law, Don F. and Jean Coffey and Jimmy Coffey and two sisters, Gussie Allen and Montine Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton Hardee officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
