Elmo D. Cook

Elmo D. Cook, 73, of Valdosta, died at his home on Sunday, November 15, 2009. Born November 13, 1936, he was the son of the late F.L. and Gladys Simmons Cook. Mr. Cook worked at and retired from Levi Struass after 26 years of service. He was an avid motorcyclist and won many trophies. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elwanda.

Survivors are his stepsons, Gary and Dodie McKown of Valdosta; Jerry and Leslie McKown of Cairo, step daughters, Sherry Faircloth of Cairo, Kerry Hartley of Tallahassee, Lynn and Gary McDaniel of Thomasville; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be conveyed on line at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Cook.
