ELMER V. BARRENTINE, 76, of Valdosta died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at his home. He was born on November 25, 1927 in Wray, Georgia to the late James and Luta Stephens Barrentine and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Barrentine was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired truck driver with the Langdale Company.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Barrentine of Valdosta, two daughters and a son in law, Erleen and Frank Crawley of Valdosta, Joan Transve of Borger, TX., one son and daughter in law, Wendell and Joyce Barrentine of Valdosta, three stepsons, Jimmy Nasworthy of Monroe, GA., Bobby Nasworthy and John Nasworthy both of Valdosta, 8-grandchildren, 12-great grandchildren, two sisters, Alma Lee Alexander of Fitzgerald and Mary Alice Morris of Phenix City, Ala. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 7, 2004 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ehling officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
