Elmer Thomas Floyd, 65, of Valdosta, died recently at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1945 in Lowndes County to the late M. C. and Annie Mae Boland Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a retired truck driver, served in the United States Army in Viet Nam from 1967 until 1971, was of the Church of God faith, a Mason and member of Lodge #691 in Stockbridge, GA.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Floyd of Norman, OK and Edward Mack Floyd of Valdosta, one grandson, Evan Thomas Floyd, one brother and two sisters in law, Willard Mack and Ethel Floyd of Valdosta and Barbara Floyd of Morven, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at three p. m. at Cherry Lake Methodist Church Cemetery in Cherry Lake, FL with burial to follow. There is no visitation. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
