ELLIS E. BOWMAN, 85, of Valdosta died Monday, May 12, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on February 17, 1923 in Abbeville to the late Esley and Hermie Guest Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Bemiss Road United Methodist Church, was an avid CB radio operator, bass fisherman, woodworker and golfer.
Mr. Bowman is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Gay G. and Bill Parks of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, seven grandchildren, Tara Mullen, James and wife Jamie Corbett, Jason Mullen, Graham Corbett, Buffy Corbett, Maegan Parks, and Jordan Corbett, three great-grandchildren, Ashton Mullen, Keely Mullen, and Blake Corbett, a son-in-law, James Corbett of Valdosta, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Marie Peters Bowman, a daughter, Marie Bowman Corbett, and two brothers, Luther Leon Bowman and Harold (Billy) Bowman.
Graveside services will be held at 10am, Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Gordon officiating.
