Ellis Delon Moore, Sr.

February 11, 1944 — August 18, 2009

Ellis Delon Moore, Sr., 65, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 11, 1944 in Lowndes County to the late Carl and Katie Taylor Moore. He retired after 18 years from Union Camp as a plant foreman, and as an area manager for the Georgia Times Union after 25 years of service. Mr. Moore was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving and caring man, who would be there for anyone. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten as he is now in the Lord�s hands and pain free. He enjoyed being with family, fishing and being outdoors. His greatest memories were spent with his family. He was our best friend and guidance in life. We all love and miss you dearly Pa-Pa.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Moore of Lake Park; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ellis Delon Moore, Jr., of Valdosta and Brent and Nicole Moore of Lake Park; a step-daughter, Amy Woolum of Lake City, Florida; eight grandchildren, Delon, Brooke, Eden, Brent, Zack and Cole Moore, Alan Michael Lester and his wife Heather, Tyler Simone, Presley Woolum; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Eakin and Shlay Lester; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jean Moore of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Joann Moore of Valdosta; 11 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, James and Rhonda Thagard, Alisa Crown, Chip Moore, Mike and Martha Moore, Michelle Presley, Stan Moore, Butch and Lynn Moore, Kenny and Sherry Moore, Gail Miller; many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin Moore and Crantford Moore and a nephew, Keith Moore.

Services for Ellis Moore will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bass officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
