Ellen Martin Stalvey, 79, of Hahira died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Southern Senior Living in Adel. She was born in Hahira on April 25, 1941 to the late Homer T. Martin and Alma Barfield Martin. Mrs. Stalvey was retired from Citizens Bank and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed walking, working in her yard, vacationing in Florida, cooking, reading and spending time with family. Mrs. Stalvey graduated from Hahira High School and attended Valdosta State College.
She is survived by hers sons and daughter in law, James E. (Jim) Stalvey of Hahira and Glenn and Debbie Stalvey of Barney, grandchildren, Samantha Leigh Stalvey Miley (J. D.), Scott Smith (Shanna), Cori Davis (Tommy) and Adrianna Moore (Blake), great grandchildren, Waylon and Paisley Miley, Elisha Michaela Smith, Addison and Haylee Reynolds and Branch Moore, brother and sisters in law, Tony and Sybil Martin of Hahira, Wilma Martin of Cordele and Vivien Martin Smith of Texas. Mrs. Stalvey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Edward Stalvey, Sr. and three brothers, Jack Martin, Tommy Martin and Wayne Martin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020 at one p. m. at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the church. Please abide by CDC guidelines, wearing a mask and observing social interaction.
