Ella Leigh Register Stewart

Ella Leigh Register Stewart, 83, of Dasher died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Zephyrhills, Florida to the late Vaudy Lee and Ruby Spradley Register. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Lake Park Christian Church and a true Christian and always eager to share Jesus with others. She was one of the first dispatchers for SGMC for the EMT’S and Paramedics in 1972 and worked for 44 years at SGMC-having worked in the ER, Mail Room and Patient Information. Mrs. Stewart was a true classy southern lady who enjoyed drinking her one coke a day, cooking-known especially for her potato salad. She enjoyed bluegrass music, traveling with her sisters and her aunt on cruises. Mrs. Stewart loved her family and making sure they were taken care of and loved helping others.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Donna and Jerry Cherry of Dasher; son and daughter in law, Alan and Terry Dore of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughter and grandson in law, Heather and Clay Davis of Dasher; two step granddaughters, Trena Cherry and Kim Cherry both of Spring, TX; her sister and brother in law, Frankie and Don Miekley of Springfield, MO; her aunt and uncle, Eva and Lew Dell of Callahan, FL; special friends, Jessie Hubbard of Quitman, GA, Connie Davis of Dasher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Stewart, a daughter, Becky Stewart and a sister, Audrey Redding.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Brother Stanley Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery.
