Elizabeth Stalvey Parrish, 99, of Valdosta died on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Lake Park on April 8, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Hansel Stalvey and Bertie Saunders Stalvey. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters, Gwyn Parrish and Sheila Parrish both of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl Smith (Gene) of Murfreesboro, TN; a granddaughter, Vicki Smallman of Murfreesboro, TN; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Smallman and Sophia Smallman both of Murfreesboro, TN; four sisters-in-law, Aline Rodeffer (Dr William) Fernandina Beach, FL; Joan Sanders of Valdosta; Gail Skiles of Valdosta; and Elaine McMillan (Arthur) of Morven, GA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Franklin Parrish Jr., son Henry Franklin Parrish III, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2 p.m in the chapel of Carson McLane funeral home with the Reverend Charlie Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
