Elizabeth Sikes

Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Sikes, 89, of Valdosta and Albany, died on Monday, June 14, 2010, at Lee County Healthcare in Leesburg. Daughter of the late Sim and Lama Parrish Wisenbaker, she was born in Valdosta on April 2, 1921. Mrs. Sikes was a homemaker and a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Eston "Red" Sikes.

Survivors are her daughter, June Sikes Houston of Albany; grandchildren, Daniel and Katy Houston of Valdosta, George and Jay Houston of Albany; great grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah Jane, Samuel, Genevieve, Maxwell and Raleigh Houston; and a brother, James Wisenbaker of Augusta.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sikes will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Greg Wakefield, Mr. Matt Matthews and Mr. J.C. McMullen will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
