Elizabeth (Libby) Snellgrove Davis

Elizabeth (Libby) Snellgrove Davis, 88, of Valdosta died Friday, July 7, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 26, 1928 in Orlando, Florida to the late Walter M. and Ruby King Snellgrove. Mrs. Davis was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She partnered with her husband, Jack and son, Joe at Davis Air Conditioning from 1947 until she retired. Mrs. Davis taught youth Sunday School at Lee Street Baptist Church and was active in her church activities until 2009. She had a "card ministry" sending birthday and special occasion cards to family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Davis; her son and daughter in law, Joe and Mary Davis all of Valdosta; her granddaughter, Christie Davis of Tallahassee, FL; sister and brother in law, Anne and Walton Lineberger of Valdosta; two brothers and four sisters in law, Joe and Juanita Snellgrove of Newnan, GA, Charlie and Alice Snellgrove of Bossier City, LA, JoAnn Snellgrove of Hahira, Ann Davis of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Mrs. Davis' caregivers, Crystal Butler, Angie Cantrell, Judy Mitchell, Connie Tompkins for their love and care during her illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Davis, three sisters, Elmyruth Coggins, Amy Bowers, Jeanette Evans and a brother, Walter (Junior) Snellgrove.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Monday, July 10, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford and Rev. John McGowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
