Elizabeth Lawlor Hills, 81, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born on October 10, 1923 in Lowndes County, she was the daughter of the late Tally C. and Pearl Wisenbaker. Mrs. Hills was a homemaker and a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ. An avid quilter, she was a founding member of the Willacoochee Quilters Guild and past president of South Georgia Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Angelia and Ray Joyner of Valdosta, Dianne and Charlie (Hawk) Parrish of Lake Park, Mary Beth and George Peacock of Quitman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Leigh Lawlor of Atlanta, Chuck and Sharon Lawlor of Valdosta; grandchildren, Rej and Marquerite Joyner, Clint and Beth Joyner, John and Amy Lawlor, Jackie Lynn Lawlor, Joy and Ryan Lindsey, Jenay and Clint Wortman, Hawk and Lisa Parrish, Ken Lawlor, Will Lawlor, Bryan Lawlor, Alex Lawlor, Ike and Marianne Register, Jack Wynn and LeAnna Wynn; 8 great grandchildren; four sisters, Claudia Dasher, Christie Tuggle, Mary Joyce Green, Peggy Herring; two brothers, Donald Wisenbaker and Luke Wisenbaker. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack Lawlor and Fred Hills, a son, John Tally Lawlor, Sr. and a brother, Tally Mark Wisenbaker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Ray Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Latin American Missions at Forrest Park Church of Christ, 1601 E. Park Ave., Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
