Elizabeth F. Zeigler, 82, of Stockton died Monday, August 24, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center after short illness. She was born in Lipscomb, Alabama on October 10, 1926 to the late James Harvey and Jenny Staggs Franklin and had lived here since 1949. Mrs. Zeigler was a member of the New Vision Church of God in Homerville and very active as co-owner of Zeigler’s Honey Company.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gaston M. “Junior” Zeigler, Jr. of Stockton, her daughter, Jan Zeigler of Naylor, granddaughter, Shasta and Shannon Allen, two great grandsons, Landan Allen and Mattox Allen all of Stockton, two sisters and a brother in law, Frances and Garl Gann of Birmingham, Ala. and Dorothy Sue Farmer of Mobile, Ala., three brothers and sisters in law, James Harvey and Mary Lou Frankliln of Clarkesville, Matthew and Glenda Franklin of Blountsville, Ala., Nathan and Sherry Franklin of Hueytown, Ala. and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Zeigler, two sisters, Marietta King and Omega Franklin, two brothers, Garmon Franklin and William Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the New Vision Church of God in Homerville with Rev. David Vanoy and Rev. Carroll Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the New Vision Church of God in Homerville.
