Elizabeth (Betty) Marshall

Elizabeth "Betty" Marshall, 87, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on October 13, 1924 in Iron City, Georgia, the daughter of the late Paul Lawrence and Elizabeth Hurst Nichols. Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker and a member of Benevolence Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Greenwood (Charles) of Franklin, N.C; two sons, Abb W. Marshall Jr. and Dale T. Marshall, of Dasher. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Amanda Greenwood, of Jacksonville, FL; Lauren Greenwood, of Dillard, GA; Tana Macera (Thomas) of Valdosta; Ryan Marshall, of Dasher; Rachel Marshall, of Detroit, MI; Trent Marshall, of Safety Harbor, FL; Caleb Hornsby, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Kayleigh Hornsby, of Jacksonville, FL; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Allison, Cooper Greenwood, Slade Allison; Taylor Macera and Ty Macera. She is predeceased by her husband Abb W. Marshall, SR.; daughter, Gail Hornsby, and a grandson Alan Greenwood.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Marshall will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Pastor David Paulk officiating, interment will follow in Benevolence Church Cemetery in Clyattville.
