Elise Deanne Sandlin

January 24, 1970 — June 20, 2023

Elise DeAnne Sandlin, 53, of Lake Park, suddenly passed away on June 20, 2023, at her home. She was born on January 24, 1970, in Valdosta to the late Ida Seretha Brown Russ. A graduate of Lowndes High School in 1988, DeAnne attended Valdosta State College and later received an accounting degree from Valdosta Technical College. She began her career at the accounting office of Langdale Forest Products and was later employed by Valdosta State University in the financial aid department. Later DeAnne became a stay-at-home mother to her two sons, and provided childcare in her home for several years. As her sons got older, she went back to work for Echols County Schools for 21 years until her health forced her to take a medical retirement. Deanne was excited about the upcoming arrival of her new granddaughter, Chandler Elise.

DeAnne is survived by her husband of 30 years, Pete Sandlin, of Lake Park; her son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Cassie Sandlin, of Lake Park; son, Justin Sandlin, of Lake Park; step-daughter, Melanie (Chase) Williams, of Dasher; step-son, Richard Cone Sandlin Jr; her grandchildren, Rylie Williams and Natalie Williams, of Dasher; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Dorothea and Mark Kinsey, of Lake Park; special nieces and nephews, Tony (Amber) Kinsey, and their children, Paisley & Harrison, and Rebecca ( Josh) Spradley; her sister-in-law, Dorothy S. Corbett; brothers-in-law, Wayne and Norma Jean Sandlin, Buck and Shirley Sandlin, Jim and Dale Sandlin, Bob Sandlin, and Don and Connie Sandlin; numerous nieces and nephews, and two very special friends Dolly Roberts and Joy Herring.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Carter Cemetery with Pastor Zach Corbett and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, kidney.org.
