Elias Jessie Moore, Jr.

Elias Jessie Moore, Jr., 74, of Lake Park, died on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. Born in Lowndes County on July 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Elias Jessie Moore and Katie Bell Moore. A U. S. Navy Veteran, Mr. Moore was retired from BellSouth. He was a Baptist.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Virginia Caldwell Moore of Lake Park; a son and daughter in law, Kevin Michael and Hope Moore of Atlanta; daughters and son in law, Lisa and Raymond Loper or Statesboro, Melissa Jean Moore of Ray City; stepson and his spouse, Larry and Jo Ella Kidd of Madison, Florida; nine grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Doris and Harry McMillan of Baxley, brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Nelma Moore of Mayday. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Moore, and sisters, Louise Dawkins Jernigan and Arnita Burch.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Hope Cemetery. Brother Wayne Dawkins will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
