Eleanor Martin was born on April 6, 1925 to the late Edward Lucien Parker and the late Bella Ethel Sidman, in Fulton NY. She passed away May 21, 2014 at Holly Hill Nursing Home.
Mrs. Martin and her late husband Theordore (Ted Martin) moved to Valdosta in 1955 where she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and working in the yard with her beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother to her 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was also a foster parent who helped many children when they needed someone to care and love them.
She was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA.
She is preceded in Death by Husband Ted Martin, son Raymond Martin and a son-in-law Fred H. Hall.
She is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters. Theodore H Martin, wife Lee of Perry FL; Edward John Martin wife Venus, of Valdosta, GA; Ellie Wardwell, husband Dutch, of Valdosta; Nancy Lee Griffin, husband Danny, of Valdosta; and Suzanne Martin Hall of Pleasantview TN. Eleven Grandchildren: Ted, Candy, Roy, Melanie, April, Ron, Daniel, Eddie, Bridgette, Matt and LeeAnne. Twenty-three Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all who knew her.
We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards and for loving her.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Francis Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Copeland Cemetery.
