Eldon Dean (Jeff) Jefferson

Eldon D. (Jeff) Jefferson, 76, of Valdosta, formerly of Dothan, Al died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on July 15, 1935 to the late Joe B. and Mary Hemmings Jefferson. Mr. Jefferson was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity of Dothan Al. He was a Mason, a member of the Scotish Rite and a Shriner. He was retired from Georgia Pacific of Cedar Springs where he had served as President of the United Paperworkers International Union Region 5.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Dean Smith Jefferson of Valdosta, his sister, Tiffany Jefferson Mayden of Hanahan, SC., his brother, John B. Jefferson of Valdosta and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe R. Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday, January 2, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
