Egon Herrman Paul Boettcher, 72, of Lakeland, died at his home on Thursday, July 6, 2006, after a lengthy illness. Born on November 18, 1933, in Nuestatin, Germany, he was the son of the late Freidrich and Emma Conrad Boettcher. Mr. Boettcher was formerly of California before making his home in Lakeland 24 years ago. He had worked as a Health Educator with the Seventh Day Adventist Health System Services.
Survivors are his wife, Arlene Boettcher of Lakeland; a daughter and son in law, Rosalie and Stewart Cowles of Asheville, North Carolina; two sons and daughter in law, Andrew and Sherry Boettcher of Knoxville, Tennessee, Fred Boettcher of Ooltewah, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Darrah and Landon Sellars of Asheville, North Carolina; his mother in law, Lucille Trumbo of Lakeland; brother and sister in law, Rainer and Leisalotte Boettcher of Seale, Alabama; sisters and brothers in law, Inge Boettcher and Ruth and Bill Baker of Boulder, Colorado, Willie Pack of Washington, Astrid and Buck Morland of Blanca, Colorado; sister in law, Marcia Babbitt of Lakeland, brother in law and sister in law, James and Joyce Trumbo of Almena, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lakeland, Georgia. Pastor Mark Piotrowski will officiate. Mr. Boettcher will lie in state at the church from 10 am. until service time on Monday. Interment will be in Boulder, Colorado at Mountain View Memorial Park.
