Edwin G. Johnson

Edwin G. Johnson, 74, of Valdosta died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 4, 1935 in Lincolnton, North Carolina to the late S.J. and Mary Stamay Johnson had lived in Valdosta for the past eight years. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Brown Johnson of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Vickie and Dr. John Devine of Valdosta, his grandchildren, Adam Mark, Lindsay Mark, Taylor Devine, Sidney Devine and Jackie Devine, sister and brother in law, Martha and Larry Greenway of Boling Springs, SC. sisters in law and brother in law, Linda Ray of Charlotte, NC., Geraldine Sizemore of Blacksburg, SC. and Joyce and Willard Green of Spartanburg, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, November 9, 2009 in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
