Edwin Coggins

Edwin Coggins, 66, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born in Valdosta on June 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Perry and Willie Coggins. Mr. Coggins loved farming and enjoyed dirt track car racing, but most of all he loved his family.
Survivors are his wife, Pat Carter Coggins of Lake Park; daughters and sons in law, Jade and Kyle Vinson, Kelsey and Phil Corbett of Lake Park; grandchildren, Hunter Vinson, Hayley Vinson and Kendall Corbett all of Lake Park; brothers and sisters in law, Felton and Barbara Coggins, Gerald and Sara Coggins of Lake Park; brothers in law and sisters in law, Jack and Mary Carter of Statenville, Rick and Lisa Carter of Nashville; nieces and nephews, Mike and Penny Coggins, Kevin and Amy Coggins, Anthony and Donya Coggins, Ken Coggins, Alex and Barbara Jane Carter, Steven Carter, Shannon and Paul King, Rodney and Stephanie Carter.
Funeral services will be held at Sardis Baptist Church on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at eleven a.m. Reverend Jimmy Dowdy will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. Mr. Coggins will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
