Edward Wilson, 81, of Hahira died Friday, July 8, 2011 at his home. He was born in Appling County on December 31, 1929 to the late Luther and Addie Mae Clance Wilson and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church and was retired as a shop foreman with Pat Salmon Company in Jacksonville, Florida. He loved being with people, riding motorcycles and working with Lindsey Contractors.
Survivors include his wife, Genell Wilson of Hahira, two sons, Michael Wilson of Covington, Phillip Wilson of Adel, two daughters and sons in law, Sandra and Brant Lindsey of Adel, Robin and Jerome Bodiford of Hahira, grandchildren, Chris Lindsey, C.J. Bodiford, Tera Wilson Mesta, Lindsey Wilson Argo, Brittany Wilson Travis, David Covington and Carey Scott great grandchildren, Reid Lindsey, Kylee Lindsey, Hannah Lindsey, Haylee Bodiford, Jacob Bodiford, Josie Mesta, Justin Mesta, Michael Argo and Phillip Argo, one sister, Pauline Ritter of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Greg Lindsey and B. J. Bodiford and two brothers, James Wilson and Herbert Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Hahira First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wilson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
