Edsel Ford Hensley, 77, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on January 17, 1931 in Tanksley, Kentucky to the late William Henry and Nancy E. Davidson Hensley. Mr. Hensley was retired from the United States Air Force and Civil Service. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Mr. Hensley is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sue Bowden Hensley of Valdosta, six children and their spouses, Mike and Darlene Hensley of Simpsonville, SC, Ed and Sandra Miller of Ray City, Mark Hensley of Panama City, FL, Don and Brenda Lawing of Leland, NC, Curt Hensley of Boynton Beach, FL, Ed and Julie Griffin of Barney, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one brother and sister in law, Eugene and Janet Hensley of Manchester, KY and one sister and brother in law, Lorene and Bill Stokes of Valdosta. He is preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Conley Hensley, Herschel Hensley, Delbert Hensley, Earl Hensley, Dorothy Hensley, Dora Hensley and Leslie Carlyle Hensley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 at ten a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Robertson and Reverend Don Lawing officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
