EDNA MAE STALVEY WILLIAMS, 75, of Hahira died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born on July 4, 1931 in Lowndes County to the late Wiley D. and Fannie Mae Rountree Stalvey and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Williams was a bookkeeper in the family business, Williams Grocery and Meat Market and a member of the Barney First Baptist Church. She loved her home and family.
Survivors include her husband, John M. Williams of Hahira, two daughters and sons in law, Kay and Stephen Bonner of Gordon, GA., Joan and June Hill of Adel, two sons and daughters in law, David and Karen Williams, Scotty and Angela Williams all of Hahira, her grandchildren and their spouses, Jerry Courson, Wendy and Travis Petitjean, Cindy and Kevin Clark, Westley Williams, Eric and Kristin Skinner, Travis and Amanda Skinner, Mike Bancroft, Kalee Williams and Carly Williams, one sister, Christelle Browning of Valdosta, one brother and sister in law, James E. and Ellen Stalvey of Hahira, three sisters in law, Dorothy Stalvey and Mary Ellen Stalvey both of Hahira and Martha Read Stalvey of Waycross, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine McLeod and three brothers, Raymond Stalvey, Wilbur Stalvey and Eugene Stalvey.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the Barney First Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Wise, Rev. Roscoe Bennett and Rev. Dennis Stalvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Hahira. Mrs. Williams will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
