Edna M. Green

Edna M. Green, 79, of Lake Park died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lowndes County on April 9, 1931 to the late Carl and Lillie Mae Cumbess Wiggins and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mrs. Green was a devoted member of Antioch Church and retired from Strickland Cotton Mills. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Glen and Kathy Green of Berlin, Kenneth A. and Pam Green of Lake Park, Tommy and Donna Green of Lake Park, Jeanine and Pete Stafford of Westville, Fla., Jody Green of Valdosta and Sarah Pacetti of Adel, a special granddaughter, Denise Shields of Clyattville, 13-grandchildren, 12-great grandchildren, four sisters, Minnie Ogle of El Paso, TX., Laura Jackson of Perry, Fla., Dorothy Bowles and Judy Fountain both of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Green, daughters, Sue Alexander, Lois Herrin, Freddie Nell Green and a son, James Green.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Friday, May 7, 2010 at Antioch Church with Rev. Mickey Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
