Edna Butler Asbell Williamson

November 11, 1918 — April 5, 2017

Edna Butler Asbell Williamson, 98, passed away April 5, 2017, at Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia.
She was born in Wilkinson County, GA, to Claude and Katy Lee Butler on November 11, 1918, the day the treaty to end World War I was signed, which now is celebrated as Veterans Day. Following the death of her mother she was raised by her maternal aunt and uncle, Mamie and Tom Davidson. She lived most of her life in Albany, GA, in a home she loved and where she graciously entertained her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All looked forward to going to MeMa's house for so much love and delicious home cooking. She dearly loved her family and sweet neighbors. Edna was a long-time member of Radium Springs Baptist Church in Albany, GA.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Glen Ann Harbin of Valdosta, GA, and Patricia Butler (Claude) of Quitman, GA, and step-daughter Jane O'Gorman of Dahlonega, GA. Grandchildren: Lee Harbin (Patti) of San Antonio, TX; Major Greg Harbin, USAF (ret) (Jodi) of Washington, NC; Rick Butler (Lane) of Tallahassee, FL; Russ Butler (Leah) of Dixie, GA; Geoff O'Gorman, Jonathan O'Gorman and Scott O'Gorman. Great Grandchildren: Grace Harbin, Charlotte, NC; Emma Kate (Justin) Young, Yuma AZ; Georgia (Garrett) Crumrine, Boerne, TX; 2nd Lt Sam Peters, USMC, Pensacola, FL; Alison Peters, Boone, NC; Cannon Butler and Madison Butler, Tallahassee, FL; Easton Butler, Dixie, GA, and Parker O'Gorman, Bishop, GA. Great-Great Grandchildren: Clyde and Daisy Lee Crumrine, Boerne, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by husbands Glen Asbell and Ellison Williamson; brothers Lester Butler and Joe Butler; sister Gladys Butler Nelms and son-in-law Gil Harbin.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta, GA on Saturday April 8th at 3:30pm. Memorials may be made to Radium Springs Baptist Church, 2402 Roxanna Road, Albany, GA 31705 or the charity of your choice.
