Edna Broome, 73, of Enigma died on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Berrien Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on February 12, 1936 in Chula, Georgia to the late Hezakiah and Mattie Busben Dowdy. She was a retired payroll officer from the Barnett Bank and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Eileen Broome of Powder Springs, Georgia; a granddaughter, Michelle Broome of Jacksonville, Florida; great-grandchildren, Michael Broome and Mahleek Melton both of Jacksonville, Florida; a granddaughter and her husband, Melissa and Michael Chosewood of Rockmart, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Tathan and Cason Chosewood also of Rockmart, Georgia; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Elmo Israel of Albany, Georgia, Darlene and Jack Tillman of Moultrie, Georgia, and Louise and Carroll Blackaby of Shepardsville, Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Buddy, Robert, Arthur and H.K. Dowdy.
