Edna Brady Player, 89, of Valdosta died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Marietta at the home of her daughter. She was born on September 22, 1920 in Berrien County to the late Charlie Gordon and Flora Kirkland Brady and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Player was retired from Dowling Bag Company and a member of Antioch Church in Echols County.
Survivors include her two daughters and son in law, Nona Faye and Warren Massey of Marietta, Charlie Ann Wilson of Orlando, Fla., three sons and two daughters in law, Collis W. Player, Marion F. and Lanie Player all of Valdosta, Tony Robin and Lisa Player of Montgomery, Ala., 13-grandchildren and 7-great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Brady of Valdosta, three sisters and three brothers in law, Pat and Ray Wallis, Linzie and Howard Hansford all of Valdosta, Reba Mae Simpson of Statenville, Earl Smith of Valdosta and sister in law, Betty Brady of Barney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Collis Floyd Player, two sisters, Sydney Wilson and Luella Smith and a brother, Clayton Brady.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
