Edith Rose Hitt North

Edith Rose North, 80, of Valdosta, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House after a short illness. Mrs. North was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 7, 1937 to the late Elizabeth Nestoer and Geoffrey Wardlow Hitt. She had made her home in Valdosta for the past 40 years.
Edith is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Kelley North of Valdosta, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Powell North.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. A private graveside service and committal will be held at a later time at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Wayne Robertson.
