E.B. Jones, Jr.

Elisha Burnett (E.B.) Jones, Jr., 90, of Hahira died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born in Hahira on June 15, 1923 to the late Elisha Burnett Jones, Sr. and Eva McLeod Jones. E. B. was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Doris Lewis Jones and siblings, Carol Johnson, Eva May Bentley and Willie Pearl Futch. Mr. Jones attended Hahira High School and farmed the family land. E. B. married his first wife on August 16, 1955 and were married until her death in February 1995. He then married Joyce Miller Jones in January of 2004. Mr. Jones was a member of the Quitman Church of Christ, active square dancer, enjoyed singing and his farm animals. He was a Master 4-H'er and long time 4-H volunteer.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Miller Jones, daughter and son in law, Terri and Dan Stevens of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Randy and JoAnne Jones of Hahira, grandchildren, Andrew and Kelly Stevens of Charleston, SC, Robbie and Beth Jones of Milledgeville, GA and Ashleigh Stevens of Hahira, great grandchildren, Riley Stevens and Sadie Stevens both of Charleston, SC, brother, Robert Jones of Hahira, sister, Helen Zachry of Mobile, AL and several nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Mr. J. T. Brown and Evangelist Evans McMullen officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
