Earl L. Creech, M.D., 74 of Valdosta died on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on April 3, 1931 in West Palm Beach, he was the son of the late William L. Creech, Sr. and Rose Hughes Creech. He was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and was a pilot who took off and landed planes on the USS Coral Sea. He was a graduate of Emory University and of the University of Miami with his Medical Degree. He fulfilled his Medical School Internship in Jacksonville at Duvall Medical Center. He was also a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Creech loved woodworking, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife Mary (Cookie) Creech of Valdosta; daughter, Becky Creech Davis of Norcross; sons, Kyle Earl Creech of Valdosta, Sean Kevin Creech of Jacksonville; daughters, Tara Lea Creech of Jacksonville, Erin Creech Bowling of Jacksonville; stepdaughters, Debbie Jean Fields of Augusta, and Denise Faye Martin of Denver, CO; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William (Bill) Creech, Jr. of Stuart, FL; a sister, Karen Creech of Albany and an aunt, Bunny Lick of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassie McKenzie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Benny Olliff officiating. A private committal will be held at Hall Cemetery in Brooks County at a later time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
