Earl J. Harnage, 84 of Cecil, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on November 11, 1920 in Lowndes County, he was the son of the late Reuben and Sudie Harnage. He was the owner/operator of Standard Service Station and was a veteran of the United States Marines. Mr. Harnage was a member of Cecil Baptist Church where he served as deacon and song leader. He was a Gideon, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and served as mayor of Cecil for many years.
Survivors are his wife, Marjorie Griffin Harnage of Cecil; daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Arnold Johnson of Eatonton; sons and daughter-in-law, Joey and Alice Harnage of Warner Robins, Ronnie Caldwell of Lake Park; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; a sister, Sena Coker of Thomaston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2005 in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery.
