Earl H. Janney, Sr.

Earl H. Janney, Sr., 96, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007.

Born November 25, 1910, in Roanoke, Alabama, he was the son of the late Geroge W. and Lulla Mae Janney. In 1918 he moved to Warwick, Georgia, then in 1934 he moved to Macon where he put down roots, and made a life for he and his family. Mr. Janney was the owner and manager of Bibb Brokerage Company, and retired after 39 years. He was a loving and caring husband and father, and stayed in Macon a total of 66 years. In 2000 he then moved to Valdosta, where he was Jehovah’s Witness, member of the North Congregation in Valdosta. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Janney and Durwood Janney; and one sister, Clara Janney.

Survivors include his wife, Alvina M. Janney of Valdosta, formerly of Bay City, Michigan; sons, Earl H. Janney, Jr,. and wife Johnnette Janney of Valdosta, Carl G. Janney, and wife Dianne Janney of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lane J. Butler, and husband Rick, of Tallahassee, Florida,; Laurie J. Scarborough, and husband Stan, of Valdosta; Amy J. Balch, and husband Tim, of Adel; Wendy J. Craig, and husband Rex, of Valdosta, and Joshua C. Janney, and wife Heidi, of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Alex O’Neal, of Valdosta, Cannon and Madison Butler of Tallahassee, Florida; Emily and Lauren Scarborough of Valdosta, and Harley Balch of Adel; his sisters, Mary Bullington of Macon, Virginia Edwards, and husband Hugh, of Columbia, South Carolina, Helen Rogero of Valdosta, Hazel Poole of Macon, LaMerle Bowen, and husband Morgan, of Macon.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Kingdom Hall, North Congregation, 4244 Forrest Street, Valdosta.
