Dwight “Booty” Valentine (March 8, 1939 - April 4, 2024)

Dwight “Booty” Valentine, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and faithful member of his community, passed away on April 4, 2024, at Langdale Hospice House. He was born to the late Herbert Valentine and Hester Demont (Valentine) on March 8, 1939. Dwight dedicated over 40 years of his life to service at Winn-Dixie. Prior to his career there, he showcased his athletic prowess as a professional baseball player for the Detroit Tigers farm team. In his adult years, he found joy on the golf course, where he honed his skills and cultivated lasting friendships. A pillar of faith, Dwight served as a deacon in his former church, embodying compassion and kindness in all aspects of his life. However, his greatest joy came from his family. He cherished his 63 years of marriage with his loving wife, Glenda, and found immense pride in the accomplishments of his daughters and granddaughter. Together with Glenda, Dwight explored the world through their travels, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Dwight is survived by his devoted wife, Glenda Valentine; his daughter Stephann Valentine and husband Paul Broderick of Lincoln, ME; son-in-law Vince Lustfeldt; granddaughter Rachael Lustfeldt of Valdosta; niece and nephew Cassie and Danny; and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Holly Lustfeldt, his brother and sister-in-law James and Donna Valentine and nephews Leslie and Danny.

Services to honor Dwight's life will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2 P.M. in Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Langdale Hospice House or the Parkinsons Foundation in memory of Dwight “Booty” Valentine.
