DUANE EDWARD DUERMEIER, 70, of Valdosta died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1936 in La Crosse, Wisconsin and had lived in Valdosta for six years and was a former resident of Ocala, Florida. He was member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church in Lavonia, Georgia and a veteran of the United States Marines. Mr. Duermeier was an automotive salesman, a former member of the Stone Creek Golf Association and the Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Duermeier of Valdosta, four daughters, Kelly Johnson of Ocala, Florida, Kim Duermeier of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Kerry Duermeier of Frisco, TX and Kiara Lee of San Raphael, Calif., stepchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Mickey Pierce of Jacksonville, Fla. and Ernie and Kathi Reiter of Longwood, Fla., eight grandchildren, Rachel Torres, Lyndsay Rou, Molly Rhodes, Daniel Johnson, Hunter Pierce, Caroline Pierce, Stefanie Reiter and Mitchell Reiter, aunt, Jean Duermeier of Wisconsin and his beloved maltese, Joey.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 from 5-7pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In accordance with Mr. Duermeier requests he will be cremated following the visitation and no formal services will be held.
