Dr. William (Bill) Frierson

Dr. William “Bill” Frierson, 72, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born on May 12, 1933, in Farmville, VA to the late W. Joe and Ione Livingston Frierson. Mr. Frierson was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church where he actively participated in the Adult teaching and Lay Preaching activities. He was a former Assistant Pastor at Presbyterian Churches in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, LA. He retired as a Philosophy Professor at Valdosta State University.

Survivors include a brother, Robert V. Frierson, of Stone Mountain and a nephew, David M. Frierson, of Cumming, Georgia

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church. Father Peter Ingeman will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Lee Shafer, Deacon Karyl Miller, Deacon Patricia Marks and Deacon Stella Clark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church, 1521 N Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31602 or W. J.
