Dr. Lilam Mohan Seth, 52, wife of Dr. Prem Kumar, passed away peacefully in her home on January 16, 2017 in Valdosta, GA. She is survived by her children, Dr. Mudit Chowdhary and Ms. Aneesha Chowdhary, and her daughter-in-law, Dr. Akansha Chowdhary.
Lilam was born in India on April 12, 1964 to Meena R. Seth and the late Madan M. Seth. She grew up in New Delhi with her two brothers, Prashant and Vikrant Seth. She followed in her elder brother's footsteps and graduated as a physician from the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1986.
Following graduation, Lilam was wed to Prem in 1988. Soon after, the couple celebrated the birth of their son, Mudit, and relocated to New York City where Lilam completed her medical training at Long Island College Hospital. There, the family welcomed a new addition, daughter Aneesha.
In 2000, the family moved to South Georgia where she made Valdosta her permanent home. Dr. Seth spent the last 13 years selflessly treating United States veterans at the North Florida/South Georgia VA Clinic, serving as Chief Medical Officer for the last 5 years.
Lilam had a wide array of interests. She loved travelling and exploring the world. Her cooking was often mistaken for that of a professional and she enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. Lilam loved the outdoors and living a healthy and active lifestyle. In addition, she also loved fashion and was always up to date with the latest trends.
Lilam was a vibrant, energetic, and lovely woman who was always the life of the party. Throughout her life, she was beloved by her entire family and extensive friend circle. Lilam approached every day with a smile on her face and an infectious laugh that lit up the room and everyone around her. She loved deeply and was most happy around her family. Lilam was a devout Hindu and cherished sharing her knowledge and traditions with her children.
It is with great sorrow that we part with a beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Lilam's radiant soul will live on forever in the memories of all whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta, Georgia. Following the service, the family invites you for dinner to Passage to India Restaurant at 5:30 pm.
