Dr. John F. Tomlinson, Jr.

July 8, 1925 — October 2, 2006

Dr. John F. Tomlinson, Jr., 81, of Valdosta, died on Monday, October 02, 2006 at his residence. Born on July 8, 1925 in Clinch County, he was the son of the late John F., Sr. and Willie Lee Tomlinson and the widower of the late Vera Solomonckoff Tomlinson who died April 29, 2006.

He founded Tomlinson Chiropractic Clinic in 1956 providing professional and excellent service to this area up until his death. His patients were some of his best friends. Their welfare and care being one of his greatest concerns, he was delighted when his youngest son, Craig came to work with him to carry on his legacy in the Chiropractic field. Fondly referred to as “The Doc” or Dr. John, he was a man loved and admired by all who knew him. Displaying genuine compassion for his fellow man, he was one of the kindest, most considerate human beings one could meet. A man possessing some of the finest character, stamina, and integrity, he was a true gentleman and blessing to this community. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, doctor, and friend. Those who were blessed enough to know him and be apart of his life will forever hold him dear in their hearts. A veteran of the United States Navy he also served his country during World War II. He was a member of the Georgia Chiropractor’s Association, founding member of the Civitan Club and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors are his son, John F. Tomlinson, III and daughter Kimberly Tomlinson Huff both of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Melanie Tomlinson of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Alexandra Tomlinson, Aaron Tomlinson and Cole Tomlinson all of Kennesaw and a sister, Lorraine Paine of Valdosta.
