Dr. Jesse Pittman (Buck) Davis, Jr.

Dr. Jesse P. “Buck” Davis, Jr., 57, of Valdosta, died at his home on Sunday, June 26, 2005. Born in Valdosta, on August 27, 1947, Dr. Davis was the son of Jessie Pittman, Sr. and Marie Lillian William Davis. He was a 1975 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He had practiced Veterinary Medicine for 27 years in Valdosta at Azalea City Animal Hospital and was a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association. Dr. Davis was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Debbie Davis of Valdosta; sons, Jess Davis and Bart Davis of Valdosta; daughter, Carly Davis of Valdosta; his mother, Marie Davis Mullis of Valdosta; father in law and his wife, Jim and Barbara Maddox of Valdosta; stepbrothers, Jay Mullis of Alabaster, Alabama and Steve Mullis of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Mac Weaver and Reverend Tommy Mason officiating. officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 –8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice.
